Hi there,

I had FESS surgery 2 days ago and all went well - except that my voice
sounds different - really nasally and weird especially when I pronounce
certain words beginnign with 'n' or 'm'. Has anyone else experienced this,
and if so, is it only termporary - or am I doomed to sounding like that
teacher off Charlie Brown for the rest of my days??

My voice timber chsnged quite a bit with surgery.

I tihnk it better to have the resonance you will get with a more open nose and
sinuses.

Of course, we all get used to however things have been up to now.

Check with some friends, they may think your new voice quality is just
fine.....

Don't jump to conclusions about anything yet.

It takes a long time for your sinuses to heal properly after FESS.  Two
days is nothing.  Especially if you've still got stents up your
nose--did your surgeon insert any?  If so, wait till they're removed to
see how your voice is.

I've experienced this after my FESS surgeries, and it's nothing to worry
about.  It takes a while for the swollen tissues to recede.  You can
probably "feel" the 'm's as well.  It won't last.
