low semen volume...how many have it?

So,

I was diagnosed with prostatitis roughly 3.5 months ago now.
I'm 25 years old.  Was on levaquin for 20 days, and cipro for 30.  No
real help.

Overall, the pain is much less than before, but it's still definitely
there.

My question is this:

While I still get some pain, the most annoying symptom to me thus far
is a lack of semen volume.  It's probably 1/2 or 1/3 of what it used to
be.

Is this a common symptom?

The odd part is...for the first month or 2 of problems... my
ejaculations were 100% normal.  Now, the pain is probably 1/2 what it
used to be, but the semen volume is WAY down.

What's up with that?   Sex/ejaculations are nowhere near as satisfying.
On top of that, I find it more difficult to go a 'second round'.  (The
first round seems to go quicker with the extra pressure down there).

Anyone else familiar with this?

You probably are getting retrograde ejaculation. That is, the semen is going
into your bladder. You seem a bit young to have this problem and I am not
sure what you can do about it. If you had an infection which could cause
some restriction and thus retrograde, that should have been resolved by the
Levaquin and Cipro. Some are helped by prostate massage. Some have a non
bacterial problem which is much tougher to resolve. Good Luck.

RiverMan..

Could you explain in further detail?   I'm really trying to find other
people in the same boat as me...how they deal with it....etc....

Thanks...

Sorry for the slow reply, I don't come here that often anymore since
the amount of responses doesn't seem to be there. I have had CP for
probably 10 years. The volume of semen has reduced considerably since
before I had this nasty ailment.  Pain, yep have that too, sometimes
it's hardly noticable, othertimes it's quite annoying, particularly
after sex. As far as satisfaction, seems to be about the same for me
other than the pain. I don't have any problems performing tho, it's as
good as ever in that regard.  Hope that helps, wish they could figure
out a way to help us.
