Doctors have ignored this condition for so long, letting the men who suffer
from it live in misery.  The people who suffer from it are the experts
because no one else cares.  What the hell should guys in the forum do?  Tell
you to see a doctor who probably knows less than you do?

Some are starting to question Nickel and his studies.  A few years ago, he
published an accupuncture treatment protocol that went nowhere.  I also know
people who have seen him and have said that he is very arrogent, did not
help at all, and did not seem interested in helping/

You responded to NC. Must I respond to your response to NC? lol

FWIW, I don't like Nickel either and I think his book is just so much
toilet paper.

Why do you care what Shongololo thinks? He's running a web site aimed at
making money!!

True, but it isn't "Doctors" who have ignored the condition,
it's the system.  CP-CPPS is a cash cow, no one dies from it,
and most keep coming back, trying to get help with the problem.

Incentives for curing CP-CPPS do not exist.  No one in the US's
poorly regulated health care system or the socialist monopolies
of other countries have reason to discover the causes of this
disorder.  Here as in other countries government regulations are
focused more on maintaining the status quo than establishing
economic reasons for innovation.  Regulation to prevent quacks,
are used as a means of suppressing competition,  protecting
profits and preventing lawsuits.

Credentialism is the foundation of health care, Doctors know
best because they have a piece of paper that says so. Doctors
within the system set the rules for the monopoly, and medical
corporation lobbyists assist in the writing of the laws of
enforcement.  Unfortunately the rules end up making it so the
longer it takes to cure the patient, the more money is made.

Something is wrong with a system that requires marches to make
the government fund research into an illness.  Something is
wrong when data concerning the effectiveness of medication and
treatment are considered secret proprietary information,  and
the patients are given little or no information upon which to
make rational decisions.  Something is wrong when the system is
in charge, and the patients only choices are,  as the doctor at
the Mayo said "you do as We say, or leave the clinic"

Cookie cutter medicine works fine when cause and treatment
are known, but for CP-CPPS, it doesn't work at all. In
the present environment, even if one were to discover the
cause of this problem, odds are slim of finding a doctor or clinic
able and willing to help with it.

> The people who suffer from it are the experts because

Without medical knowledge it is difficult to become a medical
expert but persistent pain motivates and the patient has an
inside view of the condition, doctors can not see.

> What the hell should guys in the forum do?

After navigating the boundaries of CP-CPPS and overcoming it's
most insidious aspects, it is clear that my anecdotes are of no
value to established medicine and have been no better received
in this forum.

> Tell you to see a doctor who probably knows less than you do?

If a person knows the cause, they can treat themselves, but it
will be without much help from doctors, who have to follow
standard practice to avoid malpractice.  Most will just have to
find a trustworthy doctor and pray he receives divine guidance.

Is acupuncture an approved treatment for infection?

Arrogance is a quality the system tends to instill in
doctors, but most with CP-CPPS couldn't care less, if
their doctor was just able to cure them.

I don't know, but I heard that the study on which this finding was based was
not a large one.  I also noticed that his link was removed from the clinics
page at www.chronicprostatitis.com.  This makes me even more suspecious of
him.

I'm seriously thinking of the Stanford Treatment.  It's the only treatment
about which I hear positive comments/results.  It costs some money, but the
protocol seems relatively harmless and not likely to worsen my condition.
Also, the clinic is only a few hundred miles from me.

There is no way I am going to waste money traveling to China to receive Dr.
Song's risky intraprostatic injection of a secret chinese cocktail!!!
