This drug is mainly prescibed to men with enlarged prostate, rather than
prostatitis. There are some studies with Proscar, a competitor of Avodart
and which contains a similar active ingredient, that suggest some
prostatitis patients may benefit from it. I'm not aware of any such studies
involving Avodart.
