I've had prostatitis and/or CPPS for the last 5 months. A couple of
days ago I saw a new urologist (my 3rd so far) and this doctor claims
that my prostate is not enlarged. Also my urine tested normal.

The last urologist I saw claimed I had trace amounts of blood in my
urine; however, my prostate had no signs of infection. An IVP and
CATscan showed no kidney problems but my bladder wasn't voiding fully
after urination.

My current symptoms are mostly lower back pain and some problems
urinating (slow starts, weak stream, etc.) This new doctor was
considering putting me on an alpha blocker but then suggested I take 4
ibuprofens, 3 times a day for 1 month.

So far the ibuprofen is giving me some relief; however, I'm also
substituting dosages with MSM. I'm finding that MSM is actually giving
me better pain relief and really improving my urination. I've also
tried without success Saw Palmetto, Pygeum, Quercetin, as well as a few
others. I really recommend MSM if other supplements aren't working.
It's fairly inexpensive and the only non FDA recognized treatment that
gave me relief.

As of yesterday added Cholestatin to my daily routine, which is mostly
ß-sitosterol, the main active ingredient in Saw Palmetto. It also has
a nice anti-inflammatory effect and I feel more comfortable.
