Huh?

Mr. Gutbuster:  I don't mean to pry or to question your post in any negative
sort of way    I've been readng this website for a while and think I
understand most of whats being discussed. I know what a mirror site is for
downloading.   What is available here on this newssgroup to download?  Just
curious by you question.

Well that's the thing. This isnt a web site, it's a newsgroup on Usenet. I
found a mirror of it on a web site though.

A newsgroup has always been mostly a text based communication medium. You
can certainly attach files for people to grab but that isnt a feature of
most.

I don't think you ansered my questin.  Maybe you did?   What website are you
talking about?  What is it on this discussion board/newsgroup that is being
mirrored.  Where Can I get a copy of that to download?

This is a newsgroup and we are being mirrored by a web site. It is not a
"discussion board" as this isn't a BBS. In fact I don't know of any BBSs
still in existence. Most died out by the mid 90s. It was an old form of
electronic communication. Your post came through on the newsgroup which is
picking up postings here and mirroring them to subscribed emailers for some
reason.

Again, thank you for explaining...but plese be patient with one more
question...If these postngs are getting picked up somehow how do I or we
stop that from happening.   If that is so, any tips on how to shut them down
or stop that after we discuss things here.  I think this group could be
helpfult to lots of us so we should do all we can to keep it for our own
needs.

Complain to the email list moderator that does it or their ISP.

Well there ARE people who can shut down things if you ask them but you have
to know the right IRC channels and you really dont want to get involved with
them. Just go to the web site and ask the people to stop doing it, keeping
in mind there is no LEGAL way you can FORCE them to do it.
