I just looked at Dr. Toth's website and he talks about injecting
antibiotics directly into the prostate to treat prostatic infections.
Although this makes perfect sense in terms of drug delivery, when I
mentioned it to my doctor, he said it was unheard of and did not
recommend it. Has anyone had this treatment and did it eliminate the
infection. I would like to hear people's experiences with this.

It certainly is *logical* -- put more antibiotics where they are needed, in
organs that have little blood flow -- but it's not necessarily more effective.
I understand there is no statistical proof that it produces a greater cure or
improvement rate.  Modern oral antibiotics enter tissue so well, hospital
rarely bother even with IV treatment.

I like Toth's focus on culturing bacteria (I got a culture from someone else in
NYC, and it may have discovered my problem).   But Toth's injections besides
not having a proven upside, *do* have side-effects -- pain from the injection,
and (at least in one case) ejacuatling blood for awhile after.

In any event;

- Toth's intra-prostate and intra-epididymal infilitration (as it's called) is
championed by Dr. Federico Guercini of Rome (who works with Toth).  Fwiw, I
admire Dr. Guercini based on his writings online.   More about Guercini:

- you can read about experiences with Dr. Toth (who I have never met) on this
website.
