Flomax can cause retrograde ejaculation.
In patients with an infection that is detectible in semen, doesn't that suggest
that Flomax can cause bladder infection?

You mean by ejaculating bacterially-loaded semen into the bladder, yes? If
so, that makes some potential sense to me.
Concommitant with bacterial prostatitis I was taking Labetalol for
hypertension. A sometimes but not real common side-effect of Labetalol is
retrograde ejaculation. About 1 out of 3 times I was shooting backward and
did end up with a very severe bladder infection. Of course it could have
been something else that caused that, but you bring up an interesting idea,
Charles.

Certainly FLOMAX won't cause bladder infection. If the semen is infected,
then likely the rest of the blood system is infected including the blood
servicing the bladder. So, if the bladder is not already infected, it
likely won't get infected by retro-ejaculate. I'd refer you to this site,
(infection in the semen that you mentioned?)
http://bph-prostate-enlarged.blogspot.com/ and in particular the posting
there at the very bottom "Prostatitis--do I have it?" Maybe there is some
information there that might be helpful in clarifying the nature of
infections? All the best to you.
