Hello,
I'm new to this group.I'm 42 years old. I'd really like to hear from
anyone who has had a Transurethral Incision of the Prostate or Bladder
Neck Incision for a bladder neck obstruction diagnosed on urodynamic
testing. What is the initial post operative period like in terms of
pain and how long does the catheter stay in. When do the symptoms of
freqency and an improvement in flow start to happen. I've been
diagnosed with this secondary to prostatitis and have completed a 6
week course of cipro.
Yours comments would be much appreciated.

I had a TUIP on Sept. 7th. My catheter came out Sept. 8th in the
morning. Very little post operative pain for me.
I had an immediate improvement in flow. Over a weeks time it slowed,
then got better. Eventually it returned to the great flow I had
immediately after surgery. It did nothing to help my problem starting
but my uro. blames that to nerve damage.
I still have great flow and I am really happy I did it. Because of my
nerve damage I retained ante grade ejaculation.
I hope this helps.
Mike
