24 hours ago, my left testicle began to hurt.
This is not a constant pain. It only happens when the testicle is
jarred - for instance, if it accidentally thumps hard against my leg.
Walking - no pain. Doing everyday tasks - no pain. I did some
exploring - no lumps, but the back of my testicle (the side nearest to
my body) seems to be somewhat tender to the touch.
So far, I'm not having any major problems except when I try running -
every night, I run in place and do 15-20 sit-ups. No problems doing
sit-ups, either. When I run, my testicle tends to thump my leg hard,
which makes me feel like I got kicked pretty hard in the jewels (well,
one of 'em.)
There is no lump in the testicle, nor is there any noticable swollen
tissue (at least, looks okay to me.) No fever or nausea, no pain
during urination or ejaculation. And I don't explicitly remember
getting knocked down there in the past 24 hours. No pain anywhere else
in my lower or upper regions.
When I was a kid, I had a torsion of a testicular appendange, which
was removed a long time ago - so it isn't that.
I'm stumped as to the cause. I'd contact a doctor, but it's Sunday and
most everyone's taking the day off (and I don't think this is an
emergency - if it was a testicular torsion, I think I'd be in a LOT
more pain.) Things are also VERY busy at work lately and I don't want
to take any time off unless, again, it is an emergency.
If I had to guess, I'd say perhaps some sort of bruising - simply
because the testicle only feels pain when it is severely jarred or
poked. However, the only strenous activity I've had in the past couple
of days is a jogging / jumping jack session which was nearly 48 hours
ago. Is it possible that I hurt myself and didn't notice until the
next day - and that it still hasn't quite healed? I'm concerned since
I've read that most minor testicle pain should dissipate within a
couple of hours.

Harold,
Do the right thing: Get an exam. Better safe than sorry.

I second that.
I had vague epididymal pains for a while -- months maybe? That were mild and
only occassionally noticeable.
Now the pains are a mess -- practically constant, spread to my prostate, spread
from left to both testicles...
There are many things that can cause testicle pains, but among them cancer
(best to catch early) and chlamydia (potentially cureable with a single whopper
dose of Zithromax).
