hi all

I had a urethrotomy to correct a 2cm stricture on 1st september. A catheter
was left in for 36 hours following the operation and the urine was pretty
clear until this point.  I'm now home but I notice several ml's of blood
after each urination. The bleeding only happens *after* urinating. (urine is
clear).

The doctor says this will pass in time but it has done nothing to allay my
concerns. I'm very worried and looking for reassurances from anyone who has
had the procedure done? When will the bleeding stop?

hi mark - bleeding will probably stop in the next few days.

it's happening from the passing of urine stretching the area that was
worked on and causing a little bleeding, but as it heals, there will be
less and less bleeding.
