Hi,
I read on the prostatitus.org site that some people believe that
prostatitus can be caused by urine reflux.   I am wondering if it is
possible that after ejaculating something is not closing correctly, thus
if you urinate shortly after ejaculating, is it possible that urine is
getting into the prostate and causing an infection?

Hey Tom,

Hope this will help in some way,I've been doing alot of researching.
*In my opinion and right mind without relying on those so called
"professionals",
I've been reading up on Dr. Antonio Novak Feliciano's articles (This man is
really and truly a PRO on prostate problems.
*Urine Reflux is one of the very likely cause of irritation to the prostae. You
made a very good question of something not closing, and that would be the valve
that suppose to close after one finishes urinating. It's called (excuse the
spelling),
the "synechter valve".This, in my opinion, (and using some common sense without
having the degree of a professional) is caused because of swelling around the
bladder walls. If the bladder walls are inflammed, the "synechter vave" will not
contract normally(in other words, it should close shut tightly enought so no
urine will seep thru and very likely without one knowing it, a small amount of
urine will seat in an area around the prostate. The problem can actually be
reduced if the urine is actually entering the prostate thru the "ejaculatory
ducts".The answer to reducing the irritation to the prostate, is to reduce the
acidity in the urine by simply diluting the urine with plenty of pure water,at
least 4 to 8 glasses. This will definetely reduce what I beleive is the number
1 discomfort in the prostate. You also have to eliminate any food or
beverages, especially coffee(1 cup in the morning is fine),and absolutely no
alcohol.Something has to be done to fix the bladder inflammation so the
"synechter valves" can get back to it's normal function. There is also something
else that needs to be focused on, and that is the prostatic glands inside the
prostate. If these glands are infected, when urine enters thru the ejaculatory
ducts, the acidity in the urine worsens the problem.Thats why drinking plenty
of pure water, preferably at room temperature, will definetely reduce the
discomfort, and not cause alarm to make one think that they have something
worse like cancer.
A good MRI of the bladder (the MRI where the technicians can see everything and
clearly)would be something to consider.
*So trying to answer your question:
You probably have an infection already inside the prostate(the prostatic
glands),and when urine enters it, the acidity irritates the "prostatic
glands",and thats what is causing the discomfort, whether it's a pulsating
discomfort or shooting pain to the tip of the penis.
*two things have to be done:the bladder and the entire urinary tract needs to
be given plenty of attention. There are alot of good products out for that kind
of problem
*This one is the most important and MOST frustrating amongst all urologist.AND
THAT IS, TO FIND WHAT KIND OR TYPE OF INFECTION IS INSIDE THE PROSTATE,IF THERE
IS ONE, AND TO TREAT IT WITH THE PRECISE AND CORRECT ANTI-BIOTIC !!!!
*Here are some good products to use:
Parsley tea:Good for the bladder and prostate.
Pau d' Arco:
Green tea: Contains "Catechins" that prevent cancer.
Ginkgo Biloba:Good for memory, but also, can help blood flow.
*AVIOD:Saturated fat (this is the worst fat you can put into your mouth.
*I hope this info can be of any consideration.

LOL! Novak Feliciano was a total idiot (he's been dead for a year or
so), and everyone knows it:

What part of my car's engine does that go?

ROFL!

HA HA HA!!!  That's the best laugh I've had all day!
If Feliciano could cure prostatitis (like he claims), I'd be on the
plane to the Philippines tomorrow.  I also think he made a post to
this newsgroup once where he said he "enjoyed massaging men's
prostates."
