I've had CP since the late 80's.  It has been very managable in the last
10 years.  Much to the arguing and discussion on this group.  I was
convinced it was bacterial.  I no longer think so.  I started to give
some credibility to the immune system theory 10 years ago, and probably
the biggest thing that helped was a small dose of nortryptiline which
was for my IBS and peioridically some Quercitin.  I've had problems with
IBS and sinus infections also, and after all the abx for cp, I started
having my problems with allergies.  I became lactose intollerant. I
convinced a dr. to give me an antifungal years ago for the CP which
immediately started an intense burning in my sinuses, it also helped the
CP.  Didn't have another sinus infection for years.  It was also about
this time that since started giving some credibility to fungal sinus
infections.  A couple of years ago a course of AB for strep gave me bad
case of the runs. I could mostly manage it with larges doses of a
probitic. After discussion with my gastro dr I went on a week of
antifungal which fixed thr runs, helped the cp again, and the lactose
intollerance went away.  I started having borderline blood sugar
problems, so I dropped all sugar and simple carbs.  After three months
the prostate didn't bother me at all, and the water semen went away, and
the IBS got much better.  I've since relapsed after last falls left over
haloween candy, cp is back, ibs is back.  In the last few months I have
read more and more about science connecting cards, blood sugar,
inflamation, immune system disorders.  One study of Chrons patients
found that buy ingesting Pig Whip Worms, 90% of the study significantly
improved, and in some instances virtually cured.  Their hypothersis, the
chrons patients immune systems were out of wack, and by modifing gut
flora significantly improved the immune system response..   Yesterday I
read this study that links gut flora to immune system response.  The
study discovered that abx in throwing off the gut flora, the immune
system faltered, because of fungal over growth in the gut.  Plus high
fat high simple carbohydrate diets promote fungal gut over growth.  The
study documented the affect of the fungal overgrowth to reduction in the
effecience immune system cells doing their job.  I've been taking large
quantities of probotics for the last 8 months, and my allergies haven't
been a problem.
It all fits what has been my last 18 years to a T.   Now if I can just
get motivited to get back to healty eating habits!!!  I wish I didn't
like bad food so much.

That's interesting Phil.  I have tried over the years several times to
cut out all foods that I thought may be causing me problems.  I never
really noticed a big change by altering my diet so pretty much quit
worrying about it.  Certainly our diet has an effect on overall health
tho and I wouldn't be at all surprised it if is helping you. I would,
however, be very surprised if you were to find yourself "cured" by a
change in diet.  Best Regards.
