Hi Mack.

Thankyou very much for posting the link to that PCR message forum.

I appreciate your thoughtfulness in passing it on to us. That's what this
newsgroup is all about

Yes, I do find it interesting.

Take care, and oh......

.........by the way.......

......I hope you find solid answers that'll ease your mind in regards to the
recent identification of e.coli in your urine sample. My opinion on that is
3-fold: the e.coli in your urine sample could have been contamination from
an air-born commensual? It could have unwittingly been transfered from a lab
worker's hand or glove to your sample? Or it might possibly be legitimate?
The only thing you can be sure of at this point is that depending on that
same "ordinary everyday faculty " that told you you had e.coli in your urine
sample, ( and then ignored it ), is that they will not be able to, ( with
enough accuracy ), have the medical capacity to assess your particular
situation and circumstance shrewdly enough as to draw sound conclusions for
you.

I really don't know if you have e.coli in your urinary tract or what your
recent lab results meant, but by the information you recently posted to this
newsgroup, it really doesn't sound like they do either.

Good luck, and hope your symptoms reduce one way or the other.

Idea Man,

Hey, thanks for your reply.  Well when I saw the E.Coli, i freaked,
and I had 2 more urinalysis/cultures. One before the DRE and one after
the DRE, not right after but the next time I had to urinate (about 2
hours later). Both showed up clear, nothing found. My doctor said it
might be because I didnt clean myself before submitting the sample. He
said if it were an infection or a pathogen there would be nitrate, and
leuk estrate(?) found. Anyway, the only problem I really have is that
sometimes after I urinate i see a little (clear fluid) mixed with
urine. Only sometimes at the last drop that comes out. I notice this
usually when i ejaculate the night before. So im thinking it might
have to do with not getting the prostate fluid out the prostate
successfully, cuz the same with urination, i always seem to retain a
little. And after a warm shower, the rest comes out. So im thinkn if
not bacterial, it can be related to the smooth muscle or something. I
do notice that I clench my butt muscles a lot. Also known as,
tight-a.s syndrome. I dont know.

Well, my last URO didnt wanna do a Ultrasound , he said he didnt think
anything was wrong, and dismissed my concerns.

So I am currently awaiting to see a new URO through my Insurance (May
10). But how good that URO is/was, i dont know. I feel like ive been
going crazy from reading these posts soo much. I suddenly dont
believe anyone.

Also, I am seeing another URO, paid out of my own pocket, from a
Prostatitis Clinic on Monday May 3rd. Ill let you guys know how it
goes.

If any of you have questions you might want answered, let me know. Ill
try to ask the URO.

Thanks again Idea Man.

I believe that renal/prostate problems and rectal/colon lower GI
problems go hand in hand.
Have you noticed how many prostate/bladder ailment sufferers also have
problems of the lower GI and colon? Hemmoroids, irritable bowel etc...
I know for a fact that I don't void my urine completely if I have any
inflammation of the lower GI/colon.
Every morning I'll wake up with intense painful bladder urges.
I'll pee a bit then it stops. I'll release gas from my bowel then I
can release urine again. This process will repeat 3-4 times until I've
voided my bladder.
I've only had one uro who actually admitted there was any corelation
between difficulty voiding/pain and lower GI problems.
All others say it's not possible.
Since my last wasted trip to the urologist I've went back to strictly
regulating my diet in an attempt to get my GI tract back to normal
function.(Was diagnosed in my early years with irritable bowel and
Celiac's disease.)
It's seems to be helping greatly with my bladder problems.
They did give me new scripts. An ABX called Nitrofurantion and
oxybutynin chloride.
anyone had any experience with this ABX?
from what I read it can be harsh and I'm not sure I want to start it
if it's only going to mess up my GI tract.

Hey, Mack.

Well, I think you'll be fine.

I was just frustrated like you when you posted that after seeing your lab
report it showed e.coli and no one blinked an eye about it until you called
them on it. In regards to the left over clear fluid your concerned about
after an ejac. and at the end of urination, maybe it's just that, seminal
fluid? It might be so minor as to be meaningless and insignificant.

Don't get crazy from reading posts here by the way. This is a place with a
lot of opinions so take them with a grain of salt and not so literally. Take
advantage of the information and don't let the information take advantage of
you.

Peace.

Well,

I just got back. I ended up spending about $245 of my own money =(.
But this doctor, R. Kaplan, was great.  He was very supportive, he
looked over all of my files, and listened to my whole story without
interrupting me. Trust me I had like over 20 files of tests.  He
loooked at that E.Coli urine culture and said he too thought it was
contaminated. He said it doesnt match with the urinalysis which showed
no wbc/rbc and no bacteria or nitrate.  We did discuss something like
Trich/mycoplasma/ureaplasma, he said those are hard to detect. He did
a fresh urinalysis right there, and then a DRE to try to get some
prostate fluid.  He said he didnt see anything there. Then he did an
ultrasound, he said there was a little urine, say 1cc  in my bladder,
but he said that could be because i had been sitting for 15 mins, and
the kidneys are always dumping fluid into the bladder.  At the end,
he said that it might be related to ejaculation, and that it was
normal to see a little at the end of urination a day or two after. He
also said, some ppl  see a little come out after a hard bowel
movement, he said thats normal too. He said that im digging too much
into this. He said he would see me in 1 month if i still had some
concerns.

Monday i see another URO through my insurance.

I kinda spoke about nanobacteria with him, he said thats all nonsense.
