I believe my prostatitis was initially caused by an STD (that's what
was found)although I think it's gone now, so anyway I don't want to
tell people about it. There's a problem though, I can't drink alcohol
as a result of this disease and it looks like this will continue for a
long time. What disease which is less embarrising can I use an excuse
to tell people why i can't drink ? chronic ulcers, colitis and does
smoking a bit of maruhuana effect these diseaes as I do that on
ocassion .

So right. There's nothing wrong with making the choice to not drink.
Sounds like you have problems being your own person.
You don't have to buy into the mentalitity that in order to 'fit in"
you've got to do as others do.
Be your own person, form your own ideals and values, even if it means
not being part of the in crowd.

Prostatitis isn't necessarily caused by STDs. Mine, along with BPH,
arrived around my 50th birthday for no readily discernible reason.
Lots of men get it a lot younger. Besides, it's nobody's damned
business why you don't drink. You don't drink because you choose not
to. Lucky them, you're the designated driver.
