º-- Idea Man --º - 04 Mar 2004 03:51 GMT My fellow posters.
There is a virus in a recent post dated 2004/03/02. This TITLE OF THE POST is ( Re: Hello, content.partner, New Internal Rls...).
Please check your computers for viruses. I am pretty sure that in many cases your virus scanner will report's back negative, so when this happens, go to a free online virus scanner and let it scan your computer. I recommend you do a Gogle search and search for the best free online virus scanners and follow accordingly.
The virus is W32/Torvil.B.worm

Brief Description
Torvil.B is a dangerous worm, as when it has affected a computer, it prevents any program from being run.
Torvil.B mainly spreads via e-mail, P2P applications, such as KaZaA or Xolox, and the chat channels IRC or ICQ.
Torvil.B is sometimes easy to identify, as it can reach computers in a message with one of the following attached files: YOURWIN.BAT, PROBSOLV.DOC.PIF, FLT-XB5.RAR.PIF, DOCUMENT.DOC.PIF, SEXINTHECITY.SCR, TORVIL.PIF, WIN$HITRULEZ.PIF, SEXY.JPG, FLT-IXB23.ZIP, READIT.DOC.PIF, DOCUMENT1.DOC.PIF, ATTACHMENT.ZIP, MESSAGE.ZIP or Q723523_W9X_WXP_X86_EN.EXE.

So presumably, we are "running programs" in order to read your post, non?
So I would therefore further surmise that anyone who could read your warning doesn't need it, non?

You are the most inconsistent poster I have ever seen on a newgroup. Do you have a drinking problem?
No further response will be made on this nonsense.

Oldbie, your simply doing me a favor by not responding to my comments. I sincerely appreciate your gesture.
Let me ask you Oldbie, ( a rhetorical question of course, not wanting an answer back ). someone went out of their way to alert everyone in this newsgroup, ( directed mostly to those who are not computer literate ), about a virus deliberately posted to this newsgroup. Why do you find a need to post a sarcastic remark about that?
Here is what you posted in a response to the warning to the group about the W32/Torvil.B.worm, " So presumably, we are "running programs" in order to read your post, non? So I would therefore further surmise that anyone who could read your warning doesn't need it, non?"
Your an idiot Oldbie, and you have your facts wrong. Your sad reality is that you get off posting to this group for the sole purpose of irritating other's.
Even if we were consider your illogical gibberish, ( which I personally don't ), are you suggesting to everyone here that if they were actually infected with the W32/Torvil.B.worm, they would know it, it would be obvious, and there would be no way they could have read the warning? In other word's, ignore the virus warning because your all still connected to the net and reading newsgroup post's.
Look! You're so stupid that you think 'harass' is two words. Stop trying to grab my attention by constantly irritating me you menace! I'm not gay and not interested! Got it??

Most know not to run questionable programs, but mistakes happen, thanks for the warning, is more apporpriate than an exhibition of arrogance. jrh
