Hey guys,
How about we begin conducting our own mini studies here in the group? Each
study would last for just 1 month & when done, those involved could report
back with their results for discussion.
I mean we do have enough sufferers posting and reading for this to happen.
The only question is, are any of you willing to be disciplined enough to
participate?
We would start a new thread called " The CPPS Experiment's", and this is
where we would discuss ideas for group studies and post the results.
Whenever anyone has an idea for a group study, this is where it would go.
The reason we would keep all information under this heading is very simple,
organization, and so that for years sufferers could always use it as a
source to review.

*RULES FOR PARTICIPATION IN "THE CPPS EXPERIMENT'S"*
----- Anyone can submit a suggestion for group study, but it must be posted
under " The CPPS Experiment's ".
----- All ideas and opinions are accepted.
----- Group studies must have a minimum of 4 participants.
----- Group studies must last for a minimum of 1 month.
----- If you are participating in a group study, you may not deviate from
the rules & guidelines of that study. ( doing so would jeopardize the
results ).
----- If have committed yourself to be part of a group study, you may not
drop out of that study unless you have a legitimate reason, ( e.g.. it makes
symptoms worse, your doctor recommendations, etc. )
----- At the end of a group study, all results must be posted back to the
group and only under the heading " The CPPS Experiment's ".

I think something like this would help sufferers. We as a group might see
some people improve too! After this thing got rolling and the information
built up, it would also be a place where veteran posters could direct newbie
posters. Let's admit it, for the most part the results of these group
studies would be anecdotal, but I submit that a lot of good could come from
this.
There are many options for studies and they can be quite simple, like a
month without eating carbohydrates, ( wheat: pastries, pasta, etc. ), or a
month of drinking just water only? A month of no ejaculation or a month of
stretching morning and night. How about taking relaxing walks for a month or
supplementing with a certain mineral or vitamin? The ideas for group studies
are endless and all of your opinions are welcome. I urge all of you to
consider this and to participate. The more the better and changes to the
above are welcome! This may have to be fine tuned for optimal results.
Regards.

Good Idea!
To begin such a project a method of categorizing by symptoms would
need to be developed. It is difficult to find out what symptoms
are associated with CP and there is no test that I know of that can
determine if one has CPPS.
A collection of symptoms of CPPS sufferers would be a good place to
start analysizing this disorder, which may one of multiple problems
with more than one primary cause.
One would want any group that is trying an expermental treatment to
have the closest posible symptom match.

Whatever suggestion's you have feel free to post them, JR. Anyone else that
has an idea, join in, all ideas are welcome! They have to be easy though. I
was thinking about mini studies such as getting 3-4 people together to try
simple thing's like a month of water only -- no other fluid's, see if that
influences one's symptoms? It's tough though, many of us like our coffee or
soda and couldn't bare the thought of dropping it for a month. Or like I
mentioned before about no wheat and carb's for a month. The difficulty in
all this though, is finding a few people who would make the effort....he

Thanks for your comments JR!
I originally sent another email about this, but it doesn't seem to have
reached the group, so I'll try again. I was thinking more in terms of very
simple studies. Mini-studies like water - only for a
month...·´¯`·....·´¯¯`·....with "no" other types of fluids. Or a month of no
wheat and carbohydrates. The problem with this though is that many would not
want to give up their coffee, soda or pasta long enough to participate.
We should all keep in mind though that these newsgroup studies would only be
for a month, so anything we try would be over quickly and wouldn't be all
that bad.
I think we could learn and accomplish a lot here if we just got together and
get the ball rolling. We just need more people like JR and Alfred posting
some ideas about this for us to get our first group study underway. Include
me as the first person willing to participate in any study we as a group
decide upon and let the "CPPS Experiment's" begin! ( Glorious
applause....here, here!! Crowd goes wild!! )

This is a good suggestion that I overlooked.
Ideally I think that your proposal would be a best case scenario, but
considering all that we have to work with here, at least at first, we should
accept anyone suffering from CPPS and willing to lend their body to science,
( smiling ).

Alfred - 07 Mar 2004 15:10 GMT
Milgamma N is a drug for treatment of neuropathies. As far as I know
some specialists, like Dr. Jordan Dimitrakov, report good results of
this drug on prostatitis patients.
Milgamma N consists of water soluble B vitamines. The main advantage
of this drug is absence of side effects.
I would like to suggest a study on taking Milgamma N for, say, 2
months period in order to tell its effect on prostatitis symptoms.

Geat suggestion, Alfred!
One drawback however, not everyone can get milgamma-n. Many of us are in
North America and I don't think it's avaliable here? Unless someone
purchased it, ( and was then reimbursed of course ), and mailed it to
whoever wanted to participate, we have to come up with another idea.
But, if someone mailed me some, I would send them a cheque for
reimbursement.
