Hello,
In the past 18 months I have been suffering a variety of symptoms that
have caused me considerable anxiety.  I saw many doctors, none could
give me an answer and they tested me for several common STDs and the
results came back negative.  The best explanation I could come up with
is gen Herpes.  (This is one STD I have not been tested for).
However, I now have another theory, please read on..

Here are my symptoms:

1. About 3 times in the last 18 months I have what I believe is
Balanitis - I am not circumsized, and the symptoms of that have
included:
a) Swolen, inflamation and red area around the foreskin, making it
difficult to roll the skin back and fourth.
b) Rash on the head of my penis
c) Flaking skin after the rash went away on the area of the rash and
swelling.
d) Acid pain feeling after urination
e) Burning feeling while rash was present following ejaculation.

2. Very itchy scrotum - unlike the Balanitis or Balanitis like
symptoms described above, this occurs almost daily and is very
persistant (this is my main annoyance).

3. A small - almost like in-grown hair type pimple or bump on my
scrotum that is there constantly (does not go away and come back as
would be the case with HSV)

4. Ocasional muscle aches that last several days in the thighs and
groin.

5. Ocasional Acidy stomach aches

Here are my questions:

1. Could all this and especialy symptoms 1, 2 and 3 be due to a yeast
infection (e.g. Candida Albicans)?
2. Would Tinactin resolve a yeast infection?
3. What would be my best over the counter treatment, something like
monastat? - 4. Assuming the answer to 3 is something topical, I assume
I should rub this all over my scrotum and penis twice daily for
several weeks?

Thanks

d & e sound like urethritis

You can seach the web for pics of what candida on the penis & scrotum
looks like - doctorfungus.org has a few

# 3 definitely does not sound like candida

#4 could be due to an infection fungal or otherwise

> 5. Ocasional Acidy stomach aches

Don't know

# 1 & 2 perhaps, but 3 would be highly unlikely

Almost certainly not

You need to see a doctor about this - if its in the urethra nothing
over the counter will help.
