just saw my uro (a seven week wait under our *wonderful* socialized medicine
system here in Canada) I am in the middle of a flare-up, though it has
settled down somewhat in the last few days/weeks. He prescribed Naprosyn to
reduce the inflammation and burning. Anyone has any experience with this
med?

I am a fellow Canadian...after years of antibiotic roulette, my physician
has me on a regimin of naprosyn and biweekly prostatic massage...(thank
goodness for OHIP, my physician says he gets $29 every time he sticks his
finger in my nether region)

Somedays I feel better than others...but at least I am off of
antibiotics....my prostatitis tends to flare up now and again...but it did
the same thing when I was taking antibiotics.

BTW take Naprosyn E (the E means it's coated, and it won't dissolve until
farther down the gastro intestinal tract...less chance of stomach
irritation)...the price is about 3 times that of regular Naprosyn, but after
having regular upset stomachs on the non coated stuff...I figure that it's
worth every penny.

I had tried other anti-inflamatories, like vioxx...they did nothing.
