Hi
I had been taking chinese herb to cure my CP(with great relieve) for
2 years but few months ago my upper left stomache felt painful and i
stoppped the herb. I had endoscope, x-ray and my stomache was fine,
the whole digestion sytem seemed to be OK. However, I feel painful in
my stomache from time to time, perhaps the Chinese herb has hurt my
stomache.
3 months ago, i turned to take ProstaQ. It is a wonderful pill. It
allievated 99% of my symptoms. But my stomache pain(GASTRITIS like)
come back more often. I have done a research on the ingredients of
ProtaQ, and it seems that none of them can be harmful to my stomache.
I just wonder if anyone has similar experience to share. I don't know
if it is caused by ProstaQ, but i really dont' want to stop taking
it.

Regards,
Martin

Quercetin or ProstaQ causes colon cancer? Or helps to cure it?

Folia Histochem Cytobiol. 2001;39(2):217-8.

The effect of quercetin on apoptosis and necrosis induction in human
colon adenocarcinoma cell line LS180.

Curie-Sklodowska University, Lublin, Poland. Pawbo@biotop.umcs.lublin.pl

Quercetin is a very common flavonoid widely distributed in many plants.
The flavonoid intake has been linked to the prevention of some human
diseases including cancer. Quercetin inhibits heat shock protein
expression and in this way triggers apoptosis of tumor cells. The
present study was designed to investigate whether quercetin exerts
cytotoxic activity against human colon adenocarcinoma cells. The studies
have shown that quercetin alone and in combination with the heat shock
can induce apoptosis and necrosis in vitro in human colon adenocarcinoma
cells (LS 180). Relationships between heat shock proteins and quercetin
in this phenomenon are discussed.

suff? This is the moron who laughs his head off at other's spelling
mistakes?

Yup, anything that makes human colon cancer cells die but leaves the
normal ones standing is terrifying.

Years before I even had CPPS, or even knew what
a...p....pp.....ppp......prostate was, ( gulp ), I experimented using
quercetin followed by rutin for what was then a stuffy nose. Analysis tells
us they are so close they are considered "cousins" in the bioflavonoid
family. I was impressed by the way rutin helped temporarily relieve the
stuffiness. I'm not sure if this can be of any assistance, but if you don't
respond to quercetin, rutin may be worth a GO.

p.s. ~~~~ as a side note, about 1.5 years ago it was " **Nutribiotic's**
grapefruit seed liquid extract, (33% citricidal ) ", that beyond a shadow of
a doubt, finally cured my chronic nose congestion. The procedure was pretty
simple. I used the liquid extract mixed with 2 ounces of warm water, and
with a tilted head and a eye-dropper, added just a few drops in each nasal
cavity. That did the trick! I'm STILL amazed by the results and am thankful.

I have got a starter pack of ProstaProtek. In the companion CD, it
said the only side effect of it are stomach upset or indigestion for
someone has Irritable bowel syndrome and one solution is to put the
pills in freezer so that the gelatin capsules will be fronzen and the
pills will not dissolve in the stomach but in the intestine.
Dr DShokes told me in chronicprostatis.com forum that taking Quercetin
with an empty stomach will have my symptoms but now i believe what
caused my problem can be the gelatin capsule as prostaq also use it as
a container and i have never taken prostaq wiht an empty stomach.
Other than putting the pills in freezer, is there any way to reduce
the pain in my stomach for taking prostaq? I haven't tried
ProstaProtek yet and I hope it won't upset my stomach and is as good
as prostaq.
