I have been suffering  bouts of prostatitis for years. After  a course of 30
days of keflex, I was free of symptoms for the first 15 days, but the
symptoms came back on the third week. My uro wanted me to start cardura, but
since my BP is always on the low side, so I refused to take it. Since I grew
E. coli and E. faecalis on an EPS culture a year ago, he gave a script for
15 day course of ampicillin yesterday . A friend of mine recommended me saw
palmetto for my problem. I bought a bottle and there are some
contraindications on the label and one of them is prostate problems. Should
I stop taking this supplement?

Ampicillin is hardly the ideal antibiotic for prostatitis.
On this group you'll see that prostatitis is typically treated with
Cyproxin.

Saw palmetto is a herbal remedy that MIGHT have some use in helping
reduce prostate enlargement.
Saw palmetto remedies are usually sold with this in mind.
Are you sure you read the label correctly?
