Proscar and Prostatitis

I heard Proscar is used for prostate inflammations also.
What do you think?

Proscar is proscribed for BPH, ie. enlarged prostate. Proscar and other
drugs aimed at BPH are sometimes given to prostatitis patients who also
suffer some of the symptoms of BPH, most notable, urinary frequency.
