Well, that was one, long objective test.  Garlic is has many properties
which work over time, like chelating heavy metals and being and antibiotic
and antiviral of sorts.  Bothering is not always a bad thing.  For example
if you have chronic bacterial prostatitis, a good, nasty massage is actually
helpful because the antibiotics which readily absorb into the prostate don't
kill the bacteria found there and the ones that do kill the germs don't
absorb easily.  Irritating and inflaming the prostate with a good daily
massage actually opens up the prostate to take in the Cipro or whatever and
go deeper in to kill the infection.  I actually feel better after a good
nasty prostate massage because the antibiotic is flowing in, even though it
seems the massage set me back.  What a joy to go from constricted and
hurting to less constricted and hurting less than in a very long time the
next day after the massage.

Just what were your objectives with the garlic?  Temporary relief?  Dude,
the stuff's an irritant.  Short term you'll feel worse.  In a similiar
fashion, following the Vitamin C foundation regimen makes the urine more
acid and that's irritating.  Being on it makes you feel worse, especially if
you OD a bit on the vitamin C (your tolerance level for it is ever
changing).  It does, however, broaden the scope and power of the antibiotic
and in the long run makes the antibiotic treatment more effective.  In
theory, it can even cure acute and chronic prostatitis of certain types all
by itself.  But it's a pain.  Sometimes it seems like you've totally
regressed only to find a few hours later that things are better than they've
been in ages.
