During a routine Urinalysis, my doctor told me that I have red blood
cells in my urine. Can the red blood cells be the result of Prostate
Cancer? I already know that there are several different causes of
blood in the urine--including kidney disease.

I think not, but why not ask the medic instead of us?

Regards,

I will be seeing a uro. next week and will ask him. I was preparing some
questions prior to the visit with the uro.

does blood enter into the picture.

but as you pointed out, there are many causes of blood in the urine.
the question is why?

it could be something as simple as an UTI.

in relation to any procedure. I hate pain.

Well, when they put that lighted tube into your bladder, you are going to
experience something you are not going to like at all.  I lifted right off
the table for about 15 seconds.

I think that I am going to request another urine test before that happens.
One fo the posters in another newsgroup told me that I should not do any
exercises for a week prior to the urine test since exericises such as
running and riding a bike can cause trace amounts of blood to appear in
the urine. I plan to follow that poster's advice prior to the next urine
test.

Absolutely but many things can cause blood in the urine.

I have prostate cancer and it was surgically removed but some
cancer cells were still left behind and they went after my
bladder and caused a lot of bleeding in my bladder and I
almost died from this bleeding!

I am in better shape now
