Biopsy complications

Hi,

I just had ten biopsy samples taken and they use cream. Now, I felt like
going to toilet but as I was walking home, I resisted and went later on.

Could this toilet pierce through the holes created by biopsies and cause
infection in stomach or bowl area?

What precautions should I take? I am travelling tomorrow overseas?

He felt my prostate gland, there were no nodules or signs of cancer.
Ultrasound pictures also show clear.

But PSA is 7.2 for the past two years. One time it was 69,5 and I had high
fever. It was infection and antibiotics solved the problem. PSA dropped
22, 11, 6 and now 7.2. Sometimes I get difficulty of passing urine but my
medicine Cardura (4 mg) helps it. I also use garlic and it helps too. Any
other suggestions?

Generally, it is a mistake to wait too long, but sometimes you don't
have a choice. The problem with "holding it in" is that it can
exacerbate hemorrhoids.

I am not a physician, but just from my reading and personal experience I
find that extremely unlikely. The holes are very small, and since they
take some time to heal, your doctor would have taken measures to prevent
your having a bowel movement for a whileif he thought it might be a problem.

In most cases, the doctor will have you take an antibiotic for a day or
so after the procedure.

Ultrasound almost never catches prostate cancer.

You may feel some discomfort in your recturm for a few days. If so,
call your doctor. he can prescribe a suppository which will help with that.

Your history doesn't really give much indication of what to expect from
the biopsy, so you will just have to wait for the results.
Statistically, speaking, the odds are that you just have benign
prostatic hypertrophy, which can make it difficult to urinate, but is
not cancer. If you have a lot of trouble urinating, it is possible
surgery may be necessary since inability to urinate can lead to serious
complications such as kidney failure. But it is fairly easy to treat,
either by meidcation, or where necessary by relatively simple surgery
through the urethra.
