It took me about 6 months, as I recall. And that was kind of on the long

Walsh in Guide to Surviving Prostate Cancer reports that at Hopkins,
half of all men are continent by 3 months and almost all by one year.

I was continent within a month from when the catheter came out. I do
still have some very minor stress and urgency incontinence, but that
seems to be improving over time. I had some of that before surgery also.

Came gradually after several months. Even today, after ten years, am not
totally continent. Wear a pad to bed and at times, when I stoop over to get
something from the floor, will leak some.
