Ultra sound or prostate massage contraindicated after radical prostectomy???

First, a physical therapist told me that I should know that using ultra
sound as physical therapy on my neck muscles has a very slight risk of
producing growth of cancer cells. The therapist said that they have to
tell this to all patients, even though a doctor prescribed the
treatment.

In my case the treatment was prescribed only after I asked why it was
not being used (often not covered by insurance was the answer).  Now I
wonder whether to use it or not as the manual techniques are not
working on my neck pains.

I do have a PSA of about 4.0 and the PSA is being monitored to be sure
that it is not showing growth of some microscopic cancer cells
someplace in my body. The last time I saw a oncologist he said that
there is nothing visiable through the usual scans and no indication
that anything is happening. The only thing is, that if the PSA goes up,
there is a liklihood the the doctors will want to start radiation and
hormone treatments, which I might or might not agree to. Therefore, I
do not want some physical therapy setting off a chain-of-events. At the
same time being in pain much of the time is not good, either.

The other thing is less important, as it concerns non Rx prostate
massage even when there is no prostate. A massage therapist claims this
can provide sexual feelings and release. I read someplace that massage
therapy like that can also disturb any microscopic cancer cells and
increase the chance because the cancer cells will start to grown.

Any thoughts on these two situations places to look for information
will be appreciated.

Thanks

When was your RRP? A PSA reading over 0.2 six months after an RRP is an
indicator that your PCa has recurred according to most oncologists. If
it is really 4.0 after an RRP, it is time to get a second opinion from
a PCa "Center of Excellence" somewhere close to where you live.
