Has anybody with a locally advanced PC been offered both hormone therapy
and chemotherapy as a combined treatment?

I have, but have not yet discussed the details with my med onc.

I will have an in-depth discussion with her next week.

Right now, I'm thinking in terms of Taxotere + phenoxodial. The latter
has shown great promise in BCa tx. It makes the Taxotere much more
effective, causing the required dosage to be substantially reduced and
thus reducing SE's.

It would be in the nature of a pre-emptive attack.

Phenoxodial is not presently approved by the FDA for use in tx of PCa,
but is on "fast track" for such approval.

A bit of hx: Dx September 2003, botched cryo November 2003, salvage IMRT
completed October 2004. Gleason = 9, stage T2c, bPSA 5.7, present PSA
0.01. No clinical symptoms of metastases. I have been on ADT since
September 2004.

Regards,

Steve J
