The Radical Prostatectomy has never been shown to extend anyone's life in any
randomized controlled study and could harm you more than help you and could
even contribute to the spread of your cancer.  You can read the shocking
details in the new book "Surviving Prostate Cancer Without Surgery" available
at http://www.SurvivingProstateCancerWithoutSurgery.org

That is because no one has done one yet which has run more than 8-9
years.  So far, no results in favor of surgery, but most people here still
have faith in surgery.

George,

Surgery in comparison to what?   I don't think he means the same thing
you do.   You are talking about surgery vs. watchful waiting followed by
hormone therapy when appropriate.  Presumably the only way to find out
what he is proposing is to buy his book since his website doesn't say.

The man is advertising.  That is all.

Dunno about you guys, but I'm not likely to take medical advice from some
guy who posts in Usenet.

I've read too much horseshit in Usenet over the years on subjects I know
a fair bit about to take anything I see here as gospel.  The discussions
leading up to Y2K are probably the most outstanding example.  There were a
number of bad books written about that problem as well.

If I read something interesting, I might ask my uro about it, but that's
as far as I would go.

Cheers,

I have read this book and found it to be very helpful. It has given me
the guidance I need to get me thru this.  There is a "Table of
Contents" on his website which will give you the contents of the book.

hi george - check out this person's website.  his message board is set
up that if you post anything, you have to give the moderator permission
to edit and change your response and still be able to use your name on
it.

he refers to himself as doctor©.

everything he represents is slanted.  either his book is the greatest
book written since the bible, surgery sucks, and natural eating will
cure cancer - basically.  you can eat yourself out of prostate cancer.

that's when i exited the website and this unit of mine couldn't handle
it and barfed all those bits into the bit bucket.

knowledge is power - growing old is mandatory - growing wise is optional
