Hi all,
About 18 months ago my partner had brachytherapy done for his prostate
cancer (he was only 47 at the time and there seem to be younger men
being diagnosed all the time). My question is: Once brachytherapy has
been carried out, is infertility a done deal or is there still a
remote possibility that a pregnancy could still occur. If I could be
more specific - in a polite way, the doctor and literature all said
that the ejaculation fluid would dry out and there would only be "dry
ejaculation". However, after all this time there is still fluid -
although it is clear and...er...thinner. His doctor hasn't commented
on this. Is semen still able to travel through this fluid or is it
highly unlikely.
Just thought we'd better check into this.

The prostate produces fluid to help move semen along. Although the quantity
of semen is decreased, it only takes one....:) Each person is different,
some perserve fertility, some do not, your Uro would be the best to know,
all he.she has to do is run some tests.
How is your partner doing, I had brachytherapy in April and 25 sessions on
Peacock in July.
