Can't say it did that but Flomax created so many aches and pains I gave it
up. Just not worth it for me.
Dear Forlorn: that's a strange side effect, indeed. But then that's the
nature of "side effects"...everyone experiences differently. Don't panic,
but do consult with your Uro. Also, insist on trying some of the other FOUR
of the FDA-approved Alpha Blockers. I switched to Uraxatrol (Xatrol)
because I hated the side effects with Flomax. Xatrol was not much better,
but it was better. Insist that your doctor work with you on that. Better
yet, jump in and get the PVP done. Though you will likely have retro with
any operation, having a PVP and getting off the meds is way better than
putting up with all that medication and their side effects.

Can sympathize.....I recently had a PVP for many reasons, one of them
was to get off the drugs and get back to a more normal drug free
life. In that regard, it was entirely successful.
The side effect for me was the opposite of retro ! In the AM, just
after waking, and relaxing, whatever fluids I might have in the
prostate pretty much drain themselves, with little or none of the
normal feelings one might expect. My normal sexual functions are
basically unchanged, little success without the help of Cialis, just
fine using it. Difference, no more ejaculation, but fine feelings.
Was worth it tho ! ! ! Just getting off drugs was wonderful.
Go figure.......

I had PVP on 2/28/05. My URO had told me that immediately after the surgery
I would no longer have to take the Flomax. Well, it is almost 6 wks. post
PVP and I am still on the Flomax (2 a day). If I quit taking them, even for
one day, my urine flow is dimished almost in half.
