I am 61 yr old male who had Prostatron 2.5 TUMT 7/2.  Cystoscopy 2/2
showed blockage in  distal half of prostatic urethra.

Entered hospital at noon 2/23, had the procedure with general anesthetic
about 2 pm. Procedure was very unremarkable and after the procedure I
was totally comfortable.  The most problematic issue was not being able
to urinate after the procedure. Not sure whether that was due to the
general anesthetic or what?  Was catheterized to release 450 cc at about
5 pm and sent home at 7 pm without a catheter but  with catheter kits
and instructions.  Had to self catheterize x2 before bedtime.  By early
morning, was able to urinate (with burning) on my own.  Biggest problem
thus far is the gas pains in the lower belly area which are being
addressed with Metamucil and stool softners.  When that system returns
to normal, I suspect I will be a lot more comfortable. Without a doubt,
the biggest problem I faced was the pre-procedure anxiety for the three
week period prior to the procedure and on the day of the procedure
(which the anesthesiologist helped with 10 mg of Valium). Would answer
any questions that anyone out there may have about the procedure.

Ah, a questioner becomes an answerer! Glad it went mostly well and the best
is yet to come.  Jim W.
