Does anyone have any wisdom on the relative merits of (Laserscope) PVP vs.
(Indigo Laser) interstitial laser coagulation. Most entries here seem to
lean toward PVP.
Thanks.
I guess I'm an expert since I had them both. The ILC in 2000 held me for
about a year or 2 with some improvement but not enough to stop using
Flowmax. The PVP last year has been very successful in allowing me to get
off all medications, triple my flow rate and at least double my time between
urination. Jim W.

I should have added that the PVP was much more comfortable as well. After
the ILC I was catheterized for 3 days and then re-catheterized for 3 more
when I was
unable to urinate. I left the hospital the same day of the PVP without a
catheter and was peeing free and clear (no bleeding) by the next evening.
