For the last 3 or 4 years I have been taking saw palmetto (raw, berry
form) to help with frequent urination - before bed about 1800mg - which
has helped cut back the 4-5 trips down to 1-2. Recently, I purchased
some pure extract 320mg (expensive) and started taking 2 of these a day
- one morning, one evening and things have actually been worse; about a
week now. Some people may think it takes a while for the effect to
begin but it was never like this with the berry capsules. It is pretty
much same night results. How can this be?  I am going to attempt to
return the unused portion and try something else like a mixture or just
go back to the raw stuff that seems to work pretty well.  Anyone
experience this or have a suggestion?

I had the opposite effect-extract helped me more-get it at Wal-Mart-it is
pretty inexpensive...

Yes, from reading all the comments from guys who benefited from the
extract this was why I decided to try in the first place. It just
hasn't done anything - perhaps bad source or batch?  Doctor's Best
320mg softgels.  Not trying to bad name any vendor here just submitting
my experience.  Has anyone else not benefited from extract?

Wal-Mart sells to potency of extract 80mg and 160mg-it is not expensive-it
is the brand  they sell-green valley or something..
I personally like the soy isoflavines they sell-take 2 a day-gives the
vitamins the Orientals get and they have no prostate problems-very
inexpensive
good luck

I just bought Saw Palmetto 120 softgels 160mg at Walgreens for $10. It
was a 2 for 1 sale so normally each 60 bottle is $10. The consumerlab
approved list has Walgreens on it:

This is the most definitive and comprehensive article on Saw Palmetto I've
come across.
