Well, a little bit of one step backwards.  PVP 6 days ago,
all going great. A little bit of discomfort when I pee, but
no big deal.  During the day, seems like I have to go
pretty often, but flow is good. Not too much in the bladder
(I think....will get an ultrasound in a couple of weeks) but
the 'urge' is there without to much action. Only get up once
a nite. Today had a little blood and a couple of small clots,
havn't had that since day #1.  I think it is probably because
I have started taking my Plavix again.
All in all....everything seems to be coming along just fine.

Sounds good to me.  Bits of blood clots and sometimes quite red pee
are common for weeks. I had a few instances of this again 3 weeks
later and then for a couple of weeks 3 MONTHS later. I am now 4 months
after PVP and at 3 months passed a big clot for no reason, and then 4
or 5 occasions of blood tinge gradually reducing over 2 weeks.Nothing
for about 3 weeks now.   daddyo

So, how long was it before you could return to normal physical
activities ? ?  Uro said it would 'be a while', but hasn't
elaborated yet. Have an appt after the first of the year.
REALLY am missing golf, but refuse to even think about it
for a while.
Thx
Zork

I took it easy for 6 weeks ; Mr Muir said 4 weeks but a lot of advice
on this group said six. I did the odd strenuous thing which was
unavoidable after 2 weeks and got away with it. You can walk as much
as you like but I would avoid swinging a golf club yet. Maybe you can
caddy ! None of my blood episodes were related to activities. I have
also read that 3 weeks and 3 months are common milestones for healing.

I would wait about 5 weeks to be safe.
But it also depends on how big your prostate was, how long the surgery etc.
& how gentle the swimming. Totally depends on individual situation.

Good question. I'd only be guessing.     Richie

I stayed away from swimming for about one month. I was concerned about
infection.

I'm on day 10 of PVP.  Much like you.   A few tiny drops of diluted blood at
the start of urination.  Two days ago, so at day 8 I passed a few chunks.
Flow is now less than the 2 days after surgery but way better than before
PVP.  Some discomfort sitting.  Some sense of urgency-I think it is because
prostate is still somewhat raw from having to shovel a whack of snow
recently (due to family emergency during a major snowfall) and that set me
back on my healing--drips of blood returned following that exercise.  I am
off my Xatrol about a week now and am thrilled.   Energy has come back.
Dizziness gone.
