This is day 2 post PVP and will pass along the results.
PVP at 2:00PM, took about an hour. Home by 5:00 with
a catheter. Return to office in the AM and catheter
removed. Finally peed successfully about 2:00 or so.
A little pinkish, but no pain. In fact no pain at all.
Little sensitive where the catheter entered, but thats
it. By evening and into the next day, flow is good,
no pain at all, no blood at all.
Purpose of the PVP was not so much flow, as huge
bladder retention. Won't know the outcome of the retention
until the next visit to the uro in a couple of weeks.
He has said do NOTHING strenuous for 4 weeks, he wants to
see no bleeding caused by over activity.
So....in my case, this was an unbelievably simple operation.
The largest trauma was the nervousness prior to getting on
the table. I feel just great !

(anyone that has this and is a golfer...how long do I have to
wait before I can start swinging a club again ? ? ?  <g> )

Your Doc answered the question

While just swing a golf club may not seem to be strenuous, the twisting and
turning does the same to the prostate and bladder.  Of course if you live
above the Mason-Dixon line it's probably going to be pretty cold for more
than 4 weeks anyway.

Glad to hear that things went so well for you, but remember it was surgery
and an operation is still an operation.

hehehe.........yup, I knew that was probably going to be the answer,
was just hopeing for something else. In SW FL so the weather is not
the problem, just the prostate.  <g> Oh well, a few weeks of doing
nothing is DEFINETLY worth it all. So far, so good and hopeing for
the best.
Thanks for the reply !

Congrats. Zork, and welcome to the club also.

I seem to recollect some earlier posts, and wonder who performed your
procedure?
