Lee and  Phil,

What are your symptoms Lee, Phil what were your symptoms??

BTW Anyone else not able to reply to existing posts (I'm in the UK)??
Up to a week ago I could reply ok to the messages on this group but
since last Saturday if I click on "Post a reply..." I get an "Unable
to retrieve...." message. Any computer whizkids out there know what's
going on??

Magna,

My biggest symptoms are frequency and urgency.  For the past couple
months, I have been getting up approximately three times per night.
Plus, the urge is what makes me wake up in the morning so that can be
counted as a fourth time.  And, when I have to go, I have to GO!  There
is always the worry if I will be around a toilet when the urge hits.
Flow isn't great, but it's not really a problem.  I average around 5 to 8
ml/sec.

Recently (1 week ago),  I started taking Ditropan XL.  I had already been on
Hytrin.  The combination seems to be working.  Now, I'm only getting up
twice a night.  And, when I have to go, I get a mild rather than an
urgent urge.  The kind of urge that tells you you can hold it and take
your time in finding a toilet.  Just like the good old days!  I have two
appointments with different urologists coming up in the next two weeks.
I will run this by them and see if they recommend continuing this
medication regime and postponing any surgery.

Funny you should mention this.  The same sort of thing just happened to
me.  Threads that I was following just magically disappeared.  I thought
it might be a bug in my newsreader (Outlook Express 6).  This is what I
did to fix things:  Unsubscribe from the newsgroup.  Re-boot your
machine.  Then, re-subscribe to the group.  I'm using Windows 98.  I hope
this helps.

Regards,
Lee
