I never noticed any. Been on it for a year.

Within a couple of days to a week. I had constipation, blurred vision,
insomnia and lethargy.

Interesting. I took Flowmax for over 5 years. The last year I took a
double dose (0.8 mg). During that time I was prone to constipation, and my
insomnia was exacerbated. I blamed my lethargy on lack of sleep.

Phil,
The symptoms came on as if a switch had been thrown (retro as well).
When I stopped Flomax after 3 months the constipation stopped
immediately but the insomnia/lethargy contined for ages. The blurred
vision as well. I tried Xatral with no side effects at all. Everyones
different but I would be very reluctant to go on Flomax again.
> How long before side effects might be noticed?
I tried flowmax several years ago. I experienced extreme fatigue within
several hours.
> How long before side effects might be noticed?
BP dropped dramatically the first day but them zoomed to 210/110 with
resting pulse 135.
Derek.
With the first pill my pulse raced way over 100. That was 2 years ago.
Still have 99 pills left in the bottle.

I had side effects within one or two days, but thought it was just me on the
verge of flu, so tried to fight it. Now almost 2 years later, still have
the "symptoms"! Symptoms: lethargy, (big time!), fuzzy thinking, restless
and often unfulfilling sleep, bowel movement difficult though vegetarian,
heart races up short flights of stairs, retro, sometimes dizzy,
weightlifting strength is 75% of pre-Flomax/Xatrol days, pain threshold is
50%--used to be able to tolerate some ugly punishment, but now when I smack
the pavement or take bone to bone it requires a whack of concentration to
manage the pain, occassional headaches (never got headaches
before)....Switched to XATROL and same symptoms still with me, but the retro
went away after a few days on it. After 1.5 years on XATROL had to titrate
the dosage (increased) and symptoms are somewhat amplified. [PVP in 4 days!
Yahoo.] I tried everything to improve my lifestyle while managing BPH,
including advanced bloodwork ups and endocrinologists. Now I readily
recommend: Save yourself the aggravation of Alpha Blockers (Flomax/Xatrol)
jump right to roto-rooter so you can get back to a normal life again. Best
wishes.
