Bladder retention...PVP next week

Well, time to bite the bullet. Had a TUNA about a year ago, flow
was and is fine, only problem I have had is I still have major
bladder retention. New URO, he is convinced that he can solve the
retention with a PVP. He didn't come right out and say it, but
indicated that the TUNA was probably 'mishandled'.
So, next week will have a PVP. He performs both PVP and TURP, in
fact he was using the 'old' laser before PVP was available.
Have high hopes, hopefully still no retro and minor, if any retention.

What do you mean by major retention? how much and how long have you had
this?

I have had retention of about 400 for a couple of years. The TUNA did
nothing to help the retention, but the flow was good, PSA went down and
no retro. Will post the results of the PVP as they occur.

Zork,
400 ml is a lot of retention. I have heard number like anything over 200 ml
is in the danger zone for bladder damage and possible backup into kidneys
and/or complete retention.

With that much retention you must be careful and do something soon.

Good luck with your PVP, may your results exceed mine.
