Several years back I studied the hell out of the options available and,
having an older brother who had TURP and who had definite problems such as
retro ejaculation, I was not convinced about TURP being the "gold standard".
I opted finally for TUNA and found myself a highly experienced surgeon who
could do the job.
About a year ago I went in for the procedure and was catheterized for about
4 days afterwards. What nobody told me was that immediately following the
procedure the prostate swells even more initially and temporarily causes
even more constriction making it difficult to pee other than in dribbles.
Also when you have sex with your wife make sure you wear a condom for a
month or two afterwards as the semen can be contaminated with yellowish
gungy type pus material!
Overall the TUNA has been extremely successful. I don't experience the
urgency of needing to pee once micturition occurs, I don't get up much in
the night to pee and my PSA has dropped from 4.22 prior to TUNA to 1.99 post
TUNA. Thank heavens I didn't take the TUNA route that can really f___k up
one's sex life!
