After a normal movement in the morning, I am experiencing the constant
feeling of having to make a bowel movement during the rest of the day, but
nothing happens. Has anyone had this problem after greenlight laser? It
has been about 5 months that I have been experiencing this.
possibly gas buildup? try some remedies for good digestion. yogurt,
acidopholous, etc.

How did they kill the pain during the PVP procedure? Did they use the
technique involving two needles through the colon to anesthetize the
prostate while you were conscious? If so, that may have something to do
with it? Possible a colon infection from it? Or maybe hit a nerve in the
colon, while inserting the needles, that interferes with your parestalsis
(??spelling). Did you get that checked out? If you want to self-treat,
self-diagnose, then switch to an all veggie diet, no meats, no alcohol, no
coffee, no sugars, no sugar substitutes, no MSG, ....whatsoever. See if
that helps. Drink lots of liquids, eat lots of bran in the AM, too.
Also, you may be developing an allergy to milk products made an acute
allergy by the most recent use of anti-biotics? If you drink milk, try
cutting back on milk, butter, cheese. Lastly, the other alternatives to
investigate, if you eat meat, OR if you have a low-fibre breakfast--or skip
breakfast altogether--are gall bladder problems or an allergy to gluten.
Beyond this, you likely ought to see a doctor and get a professional
diagnosis. What did your doctor say about the BM urgency? Best of luck
to you.

Your problem reminded me of something that I had forgotten. After PVP
in August ,for about 3 weeks I had a frequent feeling of mild bowel
urgency. One day 3 weeks after the op, I had a sizeable leakage from
the bowel with no warning. It was very liquid and I have never had
anything like it before or since. I thought it was all to do with the
3 litres of water I was drinking every day but it worried me at the
time.
Since then (early September ) I have had no more irritation or
leakage, still drinking the water.
I had a long op. on a 135g prostate so I suppose a general irritation
of that area is a possibility and the sphincter nerves for the two
outlets work together in some way.
If yours is persistent the area could be inflamed.
best wishes

I'll say!
The prostate, the bladder and the rectum all share the same synergy of
nerves. Overstimulate one and you can be uncomfortable in various ways for
quite a while. I would suggest a stool softner at night, bran (preferrably
mixed with ground flaxseeds) sprinkled over your morning breakfast......a
tablespoon or so and plenty of water in the morning to keep the colon happy.
I'm a year out of Greenlight and am much better off than I was in this
respect than I was 7 or 8 months ago. But it was a real drag for a time.
Good Luck.
