I have been advised to have a PVP. The surgeon says that he has down about 40
of them and has a very high satisfaction rate.  He warned me to expect bladder
control problems for 30 to 40 days after the procedure and to plan on using
pads.  This surprised me.

My question is for those of you that have had the procedure done.

Did you find bladder control issues severe enough to need pads?  If so was this
during the day or while sleeping?  How long did it take to eliminate the
problem?  Or is it possible this could be a long term issue?

One final question.  Are 40 PVP procedures enough to be considered competent?

no bladder problems here.  40 s/b very sufficient.  talk to some of the
patients.

I had no bladder control problems, but I did use pads for a week or so
as I was in Hotel rooms. My bladder was no better or worse as regards
capacity but the retention soon ceased after a few days. I had no
leakage after, compared to a slight amount before

Randy -

Had the Greenligt PVP operation about 6 weeks ago. The next day after
the catheter was removed, I needed a pad for about a day. I have had
no bladder control problems since the operation. I am very very
satisified with the results of this procedure. You might ask the
doctor if his recommendaton had something to do with the amount of
your prostate penetration into the bladder or some other item peculiar
to you. Laserscope does not mention bladder control in their
documentation that I have, regarding possible complications.

Good luck, Bob
