It also tastes horrible and has no caffeine. I'll suffer whatever is
required to have my 2-32 (really, not an exaggeration) cups of coffee
per day. Ulcer are MUCH preferable to no coffee, so is urinary tract
infection.
I guess it's a matter of priorities?
Coffee is WHY I get up in the morning!

I actually find drinking lots of Tesco's own brand coke beneficial (it's
cheap and I'm mean!). It says it contains caffeine on the label but not how
much. Caffeine is, I think, a diuretic so should help you pee! Anyway, it
works for me, especially on long car journeys. I took note on my last 400
mile round trip. Had to stop to pee only twice. But it was s l o o o o
w....

Yeah, I hear ya.
None of the barley substitutes do it for me either!
(Lots of years drinking shipboard coffee--always
black and very strong.)
I'm affected by other coffee ingredients, more so
than the caffeine. I'm good for several weeks of
coffee then the urinary irritation gets pretty bad
and I turn into a 2x or 3x per night. That's the
killing point on the coffee and I revert to a couple
of weeks of green tea. Old age has its detractors
but considering the alternative........
