Greetings,

Some people may recall problems I have been having with BPH and the surgeons
reluctance to refer me any other urologist, I was hoping to be referred to
Gordon Muir of whom I had been in contact with his secretary previously.

Mr Almond was insistence on operating on me, having a BNI/TUIP, which would
have relieved pressure on my bladder neck, maybe it may have decreased the
frequency and improved the low flow rate but it would have more than doubled
my urge incontinence.

I persisted and sought out the help of the local PCT who had allowed me to
see another consultant at Sheffield Royal Hallamshire teaching hospital, but
NOT Gordon Muir of Kings College in London.

Sheffield is however easier to reach than London, on my first visit I was
inspected by the consultant who carried out a DRE and a flow test, he went
through my problems with me and he agreed with me that a BNI/TUIP could only
make the problem worse for me by weakening the muscles around my
bladder/prostate neck which could cause complete incontinence.

Mr Almond failed to arrange a eurodynamics test for me in Hull, I am now
having one of these at Sheffield on the 30th of September.

A DRE showed that my prostate is small and should not cause a problem, PSA
is also low, I have a back disease, the nerves at the base of my spine have
been damaged and I have been told that it is possible that the nerves could
be the cause of the problem.

I shall report back when there is any further news.

Yes, that is the next move I think, but I will wait until the tests on the
30th of September and to see if there is anything that the Uro can do.
