Any of you thinking PVP is going to cure your problem forget it.

I had it done nearly 2 years ago.  Chances of Retro are 100%.     If you are
over 50 or so I was 59 and had symptoms of frequency of 8 times per day
which was just about every two hours prior to having it done for a while.

Nothing has changed for me in last few years.  Back to 8 times a day.

It's still about every two hours or so you feel as if you have to go.  At
times you can if occupied or can live with some obdominal pain and can hold
out.

While this PVP will reduce residual that's BFD.  A long time ago when I went
to college I hardy ever used urinal from time I left my home until I
returned home sometime in afternoon.

Problem is this old body is getting old.

PVP is a bunch of crap.  Do a search on bladder pain.
Or check out this site for
http://www.b-p-s-a.org.uk/interstitial_cystitis.htm or
http://abclocal.go.com/kfsn/health/healthwatch/health_072303_bladder.html

That's what we all have and this PVP is fixing something that can't be
fixed.  PVP is not fixing what is wrong and what you get is a special reward
for having it done.  Retro.

You might want to think about PVP unless of course you have total blockage.

Having low residual means squat if you still have to go every two hours or
so.

Good luck.

who did your pvp?

In Los Angeles.

I don't want to name any names. What's done is done.

check this site.

Had I to do it over I would have avoided PVP and accompanying retro and
tried anything else.

Or experiment with Detrol.

Is the reason that you won't name the surgeon that did it that you really
didn't have it done? How is anything you say of any value if you won't tell?
How is anyone to know that you has-it-done?

On this site it says:

A cystoscopy with hydrodistention under general
anesthesia is required to make a diagnosis of
interstitial cystitis. The bladder is distended
to check for the pinpoint hemorrhages on the
bladder wall that are the hallmark of IC.

I am scheduled for cystoscopy next week, will this
problem show up (if I have it I mean)? He didn't
say anything about anesthesia?

A month ago my retention was 250 ml, last week it
was 350 ml; is this a lot or more like typical?

No retro here and I was just a couple months short of being 59 at the
time.

Good to hear from you again, haditdone! You have been away for a long time.
Your posts were some of the first that I read when I first heard about PVP.
Because of your posts giving some balance to all the reports of  100 %
successful results, I was psychological prepared for retro.  Also I made
sure that I got a world class doctor to operate on me.  I traveled from
Northern VA to Florida to have Dr Lyn operate on me.  I also got retro of
sorts.  For me the sensation is the same.  I  have got to pull it out and
look to know if anything is coming out or not.  Who does that except in porn
films?  My stream is good and I'm able to empty myself and sleep over eight
hours without getting up.  I called Dr Lyn a few weeks ago and told him that
I did ejaculate some fluid a few times, months after my PVP, I now notice
that only a drop or two comes out.  He told me that I must have some degree
of retro.  He also told me that studies have shown that it can take three
years after PVP to regain normal ejaculation.  I understand how you might be
reluctant to name a uro that you had a bad experience with.  I also had a
bad experience with a different Dr. and an aborted PVP.  This Dr. sent me
bills for the operation that I was not obligated to pay.  I got ticked and
posted a full description of his blunders in this NG, naming him and the
hospital.  I then printed it out and attached it to the next bill he sent
me.  He phoned me at my home and we made a deal.  He would see to it that I
never got another bill and I would not mention his name or the name of the
hospital he works out of on the INTERNET.  We have both have lived up to our
word.

I have never known a woman who really enjoyed the mess that normal
ejaculation makes.  Most would consider simple retro an improvement over
normal.  The thing that women like to see come out of a penis is the
wrinkles.  I do not mean to make light of your condition and I'm sure that
you have some serious problems.  I can relate to those problems from prior
to my PVP.  Perhaps you should consider a second doctor and perhaps another
procedure.  This time go to a doctor with a proven track record like Lyn or
Te.

Best wishes,

Dave

Are you sure it isn't "DFB"?

If he had PVP two years ago, he was one of the first to do so.  That
could mean his doctor was inexperienced in the procedure. The percent
of men who get retro is not 100% as he claims, but more like 25%.  I
do not have retro and never did after the procedure.  PVP has helped
me tremendously.  I am no longer preoccupied with finding bathrooms
and avoiding those foods and drinks which can aggravate the condition.
The key to a successful PVP is finding an experienced doctor.
