PVP Concern

I will be seeing a PVP uro on Monday.

My problem is decreased flow (when it acts up). It is well controlled by
flomax at this time.

My concern would be the post-PVP urgency. Currently, I do NOT generally have
to get up during the night and I do NOT have an urgency problem. Again, my
problem is weak stream and I have had some scary situations where it gets
VERY difficult to pee (but generally not with flomax).

Will I be trading one major problem for new problems regarding urgency and
frequency?

Probably not, although everyone reacts in their own way. I was on Flomax
and did not care for it. PVP+ 29 months (Dr. Lin) and I am one happy
camper.

You might want to check out "Google Groups." All of the posts in this
newsgroup are there, going back to day one. You will have a VERY good
idea of what to expect if you can spare a few hours perusing them.

Good luck...........:-)

Yeah, I have been perusing the posts over the last few years. In fact,
that's why I'm asking that question is frequency/urgency still seems to be a
post-PVP problems for quite a few folks!

I was BPH 40 grams, so enlarged but they do get worse.

The flomax solved the problems.  But the flomax fog was just
horrible for me.  Total lethargy.

I chose the PVP.  I dumped the flomax that day.  The recovery
was about a month till getting no pink urine.  Due to the extension
of the bladder, there is still some urgency during the day.
And there were no bad days.

Without Flomax, I had trouble at night.  Flomax reduced it to one
stop.  I sleep all night after the PVP, after about the first week.

I am another happy camper.  Used Dr Brownrigg, Pueblo CO

What I got was instant hosepipe flow and lost all those awful dribbling
times ........until the problems been treated you dont realise just how bad
it had got

Sounds like you have median lobe enlargement ........prostate acts like a
flap/ballvalve closing off the urethra .......with this problem things just
go on getting worse .......have PVP and dont look back just rejoice
