Just wondering if anyone who has NOT had some sort of surgery on their
problem has had this one. Discovered, last night when feeling a little sore
on my gut just above my naval, that I have a couple of hard lumps, hard like
a clothes button, not far under the surface. Both are about the size of a
thumbnail, one above the other. It isn't muscle material that has knotted as
I checked for that possibility. No amount of massaging made a whit of
difference.

So, if anyone has any idea what it may be, I wouldn't mind hearing. Thanks.

They may just be cysts but why take chances

I don't go to the doctor  because I am sick of them. Just wondered if anyone
had an idea what those things may be.

I certainly understand your answer and your sentiments. I've had a number of
serious illnesses and I, too, greatly resent having to see a doctor.

HOWEVER, IN THIS CASE, it would seem to be far better to see a doctor than
to continue to stay home and WORRY.

Let's face it:  we feel a lump or something and we worry about CANCER. Now,
I seriously doubt that you have it, but you and I know that until a doctor
say "oh, it is xxxx and is of no significance" you will worry.

It is FOOLISH to let something like this go. If it is cancer, you want to
get to it quickly.

I don't mean to alarm you, but why pussyfoot about the real fear here? Get
it checked!

MB, I agree with your suggestion.  A simple visit to the primary care
doctor will likely allay any concern.  I discovered a couple of these
some years ago and my doctor said they were just fatty deposits, and
nothing to worry about.  They do feel just like a button, and have
remained the same for years.

It isnt the illnesses so much - it's the damned stupidity of the doctors in
general that bugs me. Admittedly, the one I have only changed to maybe 2
months back seems to know his sh.t, though. I got sick and bloody tired of
being told "it's all in your head" when I would be sick, tired, dizzy and
unable to concentrate. It turned out to be about 6 different things once a
doctor, now dead, decided he had time to look into things. Since that guy
moved on, I have been back in the same old sh.t. Blood pouring out of my
arse apparently was "all in my head". Turned out to be, on inspection,
nothing but fissures from too much acid but still, read undies didnt seem a
reason to worry to every live doctor I had seen.

Gotta say it isnt a case of being worried. I was told, years ago, I'd be
close to dead by my age and probably dead in another year or two from now. I
am neither. So, I must admit to being happy - except with doctors.

> Let's face it:  we feel a lump or something and we worry about CANCER. Now,

Not me. I feel a lump that isnt supposed to be there, I just want to get an
idea on it. I dont really think about cancer. If it caused a boatload of
pain, sure, I'd think that.

No - in my case I would worry if they SAID that!

Wasn't a fear. Just wondering if it was anything anyone with out problem has
ever experienced. Thanks, though.

Again, it is your life, so do what you want. I might add that the most
dangerous lumps are the PAINLESS ones.

For something like this, it makes no sense to rely SOLELY on responses here.

My guess is you have a lipoma (fatty tumor --- totally benign and nothing to
worry about). But my advice is worth exactly what you just paid for it.

I do hope you get it looked at. There are certain symptoms that really
SCREAM for a medical opinion. One if lumps/moles. Another is blood in the
urine, stool, or vomitus (but not semen, by the way). You mentioned your
bleeding episode was nothing serious and I it is probable that this isn't
either.

See a doctor.

Anyway, good luck to you --- I'll stop bugging you!
