What strikes me as interesting is that there is very little activity on this
newsgroup when you factor in how many men may be affected by BPH.  I am also
puzzled that there is not more experiences of guys who have had other types
of surgery, TURP, microwave, etc shared.  It seems to me that this group
should have a lot more posts of a great variety of experiences.  Is it
because most BPH men are over 50 and do not know how to post to a newsgroup
or are there more posts on a separate newsgroup like the ones on Yahoo which
I have missed?

Go to www.google.com and click on the groups tab and type in
sci.med.prostate.bhp and you will find thousands of posts to read.

I'd guess it has more to do with men's cultural shame and
embarrassment re: just about anything of a personal/sexual nature in
our (US) society.
