"Compared with testosterone, carnitines (acetyl-l-carnitine,
propionyl-l-carnitine)  were significantly more active
in improving nocturnal penile tumescence and
International Index of Erectile Function score."

"The authors write. "At least one side effect of testosterone
administration (i.e. prostate enlargement) will be avoided by
carnitine administration.""

Medscape article was derived from Urology. 2004;63:641-646

The authors of the urology article have patented the use of carnitines for
treating symptoms of male aging!
