I have just learned that two Laserscopes were delivered to two hospitals
in Ontario, Canada last November. One is in the Scarborough General in
Toronto and the other in South Lake General in Markham.

My uro and my family doctor have not heard about it and are not prepared
to look any farther.

Damn! This is frustrating! The equipment is probably sitting in a
storage room somewhere still in shrinkwrap.

I doubt that anyone paid multi-thousands for a piece of equipment to leave
it in the shrinkwrap.  Perhaps you're uro probably isn't interested because
he's not trained and therefore couldn't use it.

Have you contacted Laserscope about who does PVP in Canada? You uro works
for the government and has little incentive to learn new tricks.
Two years ago my "old" uro here in Seattle poo-pooed on lasers in general,
and had no clue of PVP. I showed him a lengthily article in the urological
news and he gave me a lecture on anecdotal results and the gold standard
TURP. We parted on friendly terms and I traveled 1000 miles to a young uro
in California who advertised on the local radio about PVP.

Hi,

I know some that want to travel to US from Canada for PVP. The new fast
ferry from Toronto to Rochester will soon be in service. They had an
accident in NYC and got slowed down on delivery, nothing serious, just hit
the dock and made a little hole. I expect it is perfectly safe and may have
a casino on board. Something to do.

I had mine done by Dr. DiMarco who operates at RGH. I have heard good things
about Dr. Jean Joseph who operates at Strong Memorial (U of R Medical
Center).

This is an option I am investigating as well. But after seeing a picture
of the ugly gash that was opened up (near the waterline!) I am having
second thoughts about safety.

I thank you from the bottom of heart (or a little lower down ;) I knew
they were at those two hospitals, but didn't know the physicians
involved or how to contact.
